First executive meeting of the advisory body of the TKS was formed.

TKS played an important role as a representative body of the Telugu community during the Gulf war.

1992

The samithi’s members grabbed the Best Actor award in the drama competitions conducted by the Maharashtra cultural society.

1993

TKS initiated and helped introduce Telugu as the third language taught in the Indian School, Bahrain

1995

Organised and staged the samithi’s first public show - a Kuchipudi dance recital by Kum. Sabita, who was invited from Andhra Pradesh.

1997

The samithi took a lead role in mobilizing relief funds for millions of people affected by a devastating cyclone in AP.

1998

TKS was registered by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Bahrain.

1998

TKS’ first post-registration public function was held – Felicitated Ashtawadhani Shri Madigula Nagaphani Sharma

1998

TKS moved into office premises, thus becoming the only telugu community club in the entire Middle East to have its own or rented premises.

2000

Felicitated Cine writer and Jinana-pitha awardee, Judge Sri Polapragada Satyanarayanamurthy and writer Rajyalakshmi.

2001

Started an annual ‘Anand Bazaar’ food festival, which has hence become quite popular among the telugu community.

2001-2002

The Samithi oprganised a charity programme in aid of the Gujarat earthquake victims.

2002

Jenny, a mime artist from Hyderabad, and ventriloquist Sri Srinivas perform at a TKS organized function.

2002-2003

First in-house magazine ‘Spandana’ containing contributions from members, was released.

Programmes to celebrate birthdays and marriage anniversaries of TKS members and ‘Manasuna Mamasia’ for couples were introduced.

Felicitated Satavadhani Dr. Garikipati Narasimharao.

2004 – TKS conducted a highly successful Inter-club chess, Table Tennis, under-16 Cricket, and Boogie Woogie dance competitions.

A youth leadership programme for the under-16’s was organized to enhance and hone their skills.

Launched ID badges scheme for the telugu community and started a Helpline for the distressed.

Organised a ‘TKS formation week’ with competitions for children and Arts & Crafts fair for women.

Mega show ‘Tollywood Mania’ was staged by inviting Cine artists Sri Siva Reddy from Hyderabad, film heroine Ms. Nikita from Mumbai, and released a souvenir to mark the occasion.

2005

Mega entertainment show organized on a larger scale with artists Ali, Jyothi and Hrikrishna from tinsel town enthralling the audiences.

2006

Yet another Mega Show Tollywood Dhamaka was organised to entertain the telugu community, with Siva Reddy and Vijaylaxmi crooning popular cinema songs, while actress Ruthika added the glamour element.

2007

Jhummandi Naadam, a Mega Show was staged .

2008

Tollywood Star Nite, another Mega Show is being organized to commemorate the 10th anniversary celebrations of the TKS

1989-2008

KS has been performing several dramas since its inception: Ek din ka sultan, Athithi devullu vastunnaru jagratta, Putkku zara zara dubukku me, Great Escape etc..
